Ben Affleck is ‘focused on the positives’ as Jennifer Lopez has ‘some bitterness’ amid divorce: report
Ben Affleck is “good will hunting” amid his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
Sources close to the actor, 52, told People he’s “focused on the positives” in light of his recent split, but the feelings aren’t exactly mutual as the “Selena” star carries “some bitterness” — despite her recent posts about her being “at peace.”
“He’s where he wants to be: close to his kids and in a neighborhood that he loves,” an insider told the outlet of Affleck, adding that he’s “doing well” and “slowly moving into his new home.”
“He enjoys working, too, and is very focused on the positives.”
Lopez, on the other hand, is still a little sour after ending things, the source added. Though, she’s still “very fortunate” for her lifestyle even with her newly single status.
“She tried so hard to make things work and it didn’t matter to Ben,” the insider said.
“She’s surrounded by family, friends and her kids. She always manages to have a positive outlook. The divorce is difficult for her, but she always finds a way to move forward.”
Reps for Affleck and Lopez did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck without the help of an attorney on Aug. 20 after two years of marriage. The date she filed the petition sent a message to the dad of three, as it landed on the second anniversary of their Georgia wedding ceremony.
It was reported last week that the “Argo” star’s “giant mood swings” were ultimately what divided him and the “On the Floor” singer and prompted her to officially end things.
“You could see the erratic behavior, the giant mood swings,” a separate source told People, noting that his temperament would sometimes swing from “being incredibly happy and warm — the best light that emanated from him” — to “the deepest, darkest behavior.”
The breakup allegedly “hit [Lopez] hard,” according to a source close to the “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” hitmaker.
“She’s very upset and disappointed with Ben,” the insider told the outlet last week.
Nevertheless, insiders also said she’s “relieved” to be closing the chapter on her fourth marriage, despite her attempts to save their relationship.
“She didn’t want a divorce. She wanted to figure things out. They love each other. Jennifer is not the type to just give up. It’s been almost torture for her to wait around,” the source claimed.
