The 2024 Rangers training camp roster has been released, which means hockey is just around the corner. Players are set to report this week with games beginning over the weekend. So perhaps hockey isn’t just around the corner, hockey is here.

There are no true surprises on the training camp roster, aside from the non-roster invitees. Many on this list won’t get more than a week, with the CHL kids getting returned to their respective Juniors teams and any players going overseas getting loaned by the middle of next week.

That said, there are some players to keep an eye on. Brett Berard and Brennan Othmann are the obvious prospects to watch, but don’t sleep on Adam Edstrom, as mentioned yesterday.

On defense, Brandon Scanlin is a possible dark horse to challenge for a midseason call up. Matthew Robertson is quickly aging out of prospect status, and this may be his last chance to make an impression.

In net, Dylan Garand is the best prospect in the system, but keep an eye on Hugo Ollas, who made significant improvements while at Merrimack College.
