NY Rangers Game 9: Rangers at Capitals
The Rangers rebounded nicely over the weekend, beating Anaheim after a tough loss to Florida the previous game. Now the Blueshirts travel to our nation’s capital to take on the upstart Caps, who are turning heads this season with a 5-2-0 start. The Caps are taking advantage of a pretty bad bottom half of the Metro Division as they look to extend their window for another season or two.
The Caps are no push over, despite being a weaker playoff team last season. They made some big moves in the summer, trading for Pierre-Luc Dubois, Andrew Mangiapane, Jakob Chychrun, and Logan Thompson without sacrificing anything major off their roster, unless you count Darcy Kuemper or Nick Jensen as meaningful pieces. They are a well built team, but they shouldn’t be in the same conversation as the Rangers.
