NY Rangers preseason Game 3: Rangers vs Bruins

The Rangers hit the ice again for their third preseason game as the Boston Bruins come to town. After Tuesday night’s dramatic win, the Rangers are probably looking for better overall play to avoid going down 4-1. That said, the preseason isn’t about wins and losses. It’s about getting good looks at kids and continue to tinker with the lineup. Enter Brennan Othmann.

Othmann has played in all 3 games thus far, including tonight. It’s clear the Rangers have him ahead of Brett Berard in the pecking order, and they want him to grab a scoring role. This time around, it doesn’t appear that Othmann will get NHL regulars on his line, as the projected second and third lines are intact for tonight. That said, he can certainly displace Kaapo Kakko with Will Cuylle and Filip Chytil, just to see what that looks like.
