We love Walmart storage baskets – Lina has 7 ways to use yours!
I love that baskets can be functional and yet still become a pretty piece of decor creating a cozy vibe in your space. I have tons of baskets throughout my home and sometimes put them to use as planters and for organizing smaller or larger bulky items.
One of my favorite baskets is this large Better Homes & Gardens rattan basket from Walmart! It’s super nice quality, very large in size, and priced at under under $20! I am not the only fan as this basket is highly rated online and our own Hip2Save CEO/owner, Collin owns it as well.
Here are some helpful ideas for organizing with Walmart storage baskets!
1.) Organize all the dog toys.
We like to spoil our fur babies with lots of fun toys to have around the house to play with. They usually end up all over the floor during the day, but then are easy to contain using a basket. Plus, my dogs are able to grab them out if they want one.
2.) Place by the door to hold shoes.
Does your house have a no-shoe inside policy? if so this versatile storage basket holds a ton of shoes! This is smart to keep by the door so everyone can throw their shoes inside the basket so they aren’t on the floor.
3.) Corral all those stuffed animals.
Stuffed animals are sometimes tricky to store. My child is a teenager and still collects them! This large basket is a smart and tidy way to keep stuffed animals off of the floor. And if you have younger kiddos, you could use it for trucks, dolls, books, and more.
4.) Use it as a laundry hamper.
Place the basket in a bedroom or inside a closet space to use a dirty laundry hamper. The handles on each side make it very easy to carry to the laundry room and it’s lightweight. It’s also pretty option to tuck in a guest bedroom in case guests want to do a load of laundry, too!
5.) Organize extra throw blankets or throw pillows.
Do you also have a slight obsession with comfy throw blankets? If you don’t want a ton of blankets stacked on the couch, place them in a large storage basket! I roll them up and keep some in a basket next to the TV. This way both the blankets and the basket are easy to store and perfect to grab as needed.
6.) Keep pool towels at the ready.
We love spending time by the pool, and keeping them somewhere my kids and guests can quickly and easily grab them has been so helpful. I keep it on my patio and store my colorful Mainstays pool towels from Walmart in it. And with the open basket design, any water drips or splashes will drain right out. This large, open weave basket also works great for this purpose – scroll down to see pics!
7.) Create a thoughtful gift basket for any occasion or holiday.
Make someone’s day and fill this basket with smaller gifts for a special friend or family member. It makes a great vehicle for gifting when you attach a bow. I used one at Christmas to gift as a “burr basket” for chillier weather, and includes a throw blanket, cozy socks, a candle, coffee mug, chocolate, and more. (Everything was from Walmart to make it affordable, too!)
