USHL Players, Officials Wear Helmet Decals In Memory of Gaudreau Brothers – SportsLogos.Net News

Players and officials in the United States Hockey League are paying tribute to the Gaudreau brothers at their fall showcase this weekend.

All 16 USHL are at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, this week for the league’s annual Fall Classic. And every player and on-ice official is wearing a memorial decal on their helmets honoring Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, who died in a traffic collision in Oldmans Township, New Jersey, in late August.

The decal is a black circle with the initials “JG” and “MG” in white.

The USHL is the top junior hockey league in the United States sanctioned by USA Hockey. Its 16 teams are located throughout the midwest and Great Plains regions.

Each of the 16 teams plays two regular season games during the Fall Classic, which gives scouts from NHL, college and junior teams the chance to evaluate a large number of USHL players over the weekend.

Alongside the Fall Classic, the USHL is also hosting an elite invitational youth tournament at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex and other local rinks.
